Happy Mother's Day to all the moms that follow me. As my pregnancy progresses, I already start imagining all these scenarios and predict moments that I will one day have with my child. I remember my own moments with my parents and how I treasure these memories, but from so many that I remember, there have to be just as many, if not more, moments that have been lost to memory. Enjoy every moment.
I followed the same rules; I incorporated the 8 words provided for the theme within the piece.
occasion
flash
instant
present
pause
savor
twinkling
linger
Try to live in the moment.
Put down the phone,
turn off the tv.
Speak to one another.
Go somewhere,
anywhere,
be together in the now.
Every occasion is singular.
Even a birthday,
which comes every year,
will never be the same twice.
Do your best to live in the instant,
not the past.
Listen to the conversation,
think about your answers,
don't spew words out just to finish things faster.
You might forget your words,
but someone else might carry them for life.
You can't pause time,
you can't press rewind and try again.
All you can do is savor the present,
taste every moment like your favorite dessert.
Every hug is special,
and next time you should try to linger a little more.
Life goes by in a flash,
and you don't want to miss anything.
Treasure each minute like a twinkling star,
but when the sun rises,
it will be gone.
